What does "That's so tumblr" actually mean?

People get obsessed over making sure their feed is totally tumblr. or at least trendy. And that is what tumblr. means; trendy. But it has become an adjective, too. My friend said the other day, "Hey that picture is so tumblr. you should totally post it!" and of course, I did. Here are examples of some tumblr. pics!

This is one of a beach house (well, beach houses) and it's tumblr because of the light colors and because of the old look to it.

Chron.com says that:

"Tumblr is an easy-to-use blogging platform focusing on simplicity and sharing. Although it is occasionally used in other ways, in the context of Tumblr, OP primarily refers to "Original Poster." In other words, the user who originally published the content in question."

Okay. Be honest, you hardly have a clue what that means. When a picture is tumblr it means its cute, attractive and totally "A plethora of crisp, clean, edited photos of everything from trees to quotes, girls with pretty hair, drawings, and even tattoos." Things that are not usually vibrant, but bright. There's a light and a dark side to tumblr. Here is another example of something tumblr. Palm trees seem to be so popular as does hair and outfits.

All of these would be described as tumblr. They all have a warmer hue to them, not a cold hue. This is why tumblr photos are so comforting and so well liked. Another reason for the tumblr theme popularity could be because of it's totally hipster attitude that comes with being tumblr or having a totally tumblr feed on your social media pages and so on.
